Based on the Altec 416A driver.


Introducing the CH416AFC  woofer, based on the 416A driver, a very powerful field coil electromagnet 
with a magnetic field strength and efficiency at the 515B levels,  accomplishing the smoother more natural 
sound of the 416A and the efficiency and faster transient response of the 515B .
With  a variable power supply, parameters can be changed, by changing the power to the field coil and the resulting  magnetic field
strength, therefore changing and matching parameters associated with Altec drivers 416, 515B  and other 15" woofers..

These changes are possible due to the direct relation that exist between the power supplied to the field coil electromagnet and the
resulting magnetic strength at the voice coil gap, by changing the power to the field coil the magnetic strength at the voice coil gap is
adjusted from near zero  up matching and surpassing the magnetic strengths  associated with the higher efficiency drivers such as the
Altec 515B and others.

Efficiency, frequency response, linearity, transient response and other parameter are directly related and proportional to the
magnetic strength present at the voice coil gap.
By changing the magnetic field strength  at the voice coil gap all these parameters can be changed and a fine tune interaction between
your enclosures and the drivers is possible resulting in higher efficiency, better transient response, smoother and lower frequency
response, faster transients, lower distortions, higher music detail and natural reproduction .


Huge field coil and motor weighting over 27 Lbs ! with special no form solid potted field coil that dissipates heat 
much faster due to special heat conducting epoxies .
