CH806Hy hybrid drivers,
an Alnico magnet and a powerful coil all in one unit, a hybrid type of
driver with both permanent magnet and field coil, compromising
between the
convenience of a permanent magnet and the great sound of a field coil.
with the flexibility to charge the magnet to the highest magnetic
strength , in between and down to zero magnetism and the capability of
reversing the magnetic
field if desired to any magnetic strength, good for
experimentation, also can be used with or without power to the field
coil once
charged-up to the desired level.. If the Alnico becomes weak with years
or abuse it can be charged at home easily ! as many times as wanted.
A field coil without bobbin
that uses the crimped space inside the driver to it's maximum, potted
in place
with a special heat transferring compound, that dissipates
heat faster than a non potted coil.
They feel warmer than a non potted driver thanks to
faster removal of heat from the interior, keeping the field
and
voice coils cooler, a recommended
supply of 6.75V dc at 2.3A generates low heat (warm to the
touch).
A variable regulated DC power supply capable of supplying
up to 7V
dc at 5 Amps or more with low 1mv ripple will be fine for both coils
when operated
in parallel. with the capability to supply a "shock" of higher voltage
and intensity is needed to charge the Alnico magnet to it's maximum
capability. They may be operated continuously from 6 up to 7V DC

A re-stocking fee of 15% of

Audio Design will repair or replace the CH 806Hy hybrid
Alnio field coil
drivers against any manufacturing defects in
materials and
workmanship for five years from the delivery date, providing that the
Hybrid Alnico Field Coil drivers are not abused or misused
and
kept off
rain or water / high humidity or excessive
heat, dropped, broken, or modified in any way..
